Bio:

Born in Lisbon, I immigrated as a small child of three, with my family to Toronto, Ontario. Since that very young age, I remember the first sight and smell of my first art kit containing paints, crayons, paper and a nice case to carry my goodies in. I was entranced and completely smitten! Art from this point became embedded in my heart and soul. I was influenced by a highly skilled and gifted mother who was a fashionista in her day, becoming a top seamstress for a Toronto producer of clothing for large retail chains and local designers. My mother was handpicked to make their prototype samples. It is through her influence that I was inspired to combine my artistic values with her fashion vision. I was drawn to become a fashion designer/illustrator as a child.

Years later I studied art formally at the Ontario college of Art where I excelled and focused as a fine art major. I worked part time while at school and did some fashion illustration briefly in Toronto.   Life however, detoured me into a different professional life placing my dream of becoming a full time professional artist/designer on hold.  After a 30 year absence I am now reunited with my passion for painting, fashion and florals. Following the isolation of the pandemic, I suddenly found myself bursting at the seams to re-enter my creative life and follow my dreams.  The art ember was flamed once more and my dream is now a reality.
